iolite WISPR
The WISPR vaporizer is the successor of the popular iolite Original. This second generation butane-powered vaporizer features a number of updates to ensure an even smoother vaporizing experience.
The manufacturer, Oglesby & Butler, teamed up with two renowned San Francisco based design firms to create a new design, while at the same time making room for complete re-working of the technology that made the IOLITE into one of today's most used portable vaporizers. In addition, the box shape let's the WISPR stand hands-free.
Updates of the WISPR include:
- A larger butane reservoir for increased vaporization time
- See-through window to check the butane fuel level
- Flexible, foldable mouth piece
- The new body grill allows the WISPR to stand up and allows for optimum cooling
The iolite WISPR vaporizer provides a constant vaporizing temperature of 190°C (374°F).
WISPR usage instructions
- Fill the butane reservoir. As with all butane-powered vaporizers, remember to use only high quality butane gas! Look for the label "extra purified butane lighter gas" and "near zero impurities"
- Make sure the lighter is turned off!
- Prepare your herbs / tobacco and pack the filling chamber, then insert it into the WISPR vaporizer.
- Push down the switch until you hear a click. You’ll hear a slight whisper and an orange light on the side of the device will become visible to indicate the vaporizer is heating up. This takes approximately 45 seconds.
- Place your lips on the straw and inhale slowly. When finished, push the switch upwards until it clicks. The heater is now off.

I have been using my WISPR for a week now and am quite pleased with it. It produces nice thick vape, just what I am after. The see through window is a great improvement, and the butane does seem to last a bit longer compared to the original. Only downside imo is the price, but then again it pretty much pays for itself because you use less herb.

There are so many positives about this device too numerous to mention....HOWEVER - Buyer beware! The Wispr is a terribly difficult product to ignite. the "switch" is a terrible, cheap, plastic "mechanism" that functions very poorly! The butane vales leak, which are troublesome as this device will NOT hold propane for longer than an hour. After 12 days of use from new, this product is already leaking Butane. I am not the only one experiencing this defect - many folks are! I have a friend who is on his SECOND wispr, and this one is leaking, too! Imagine being away from home and using ONLY the wispr as your stealth medicating device....only to be robbed of every opportunity to medicate when needed due to to a poorly designed and constructed apparatus. Do NOT leave home with this as your sole ingestion method - you will be disappointed! At $249, who would ever expect this device to fail after 12 days? Buy another device! [Comment by VapoShop: We are aware of the somewhat poorly designed ignite switch, but we haven't heard of butane leaking from the internal cannister. This is however fully covered by the two year warranty!]
